FanFueled Talks With Signalfy CEO About EDM, Engagement, and More!

Within the next couple of days, we’ll be launching an engagement platform for Signalfy, a new social community that’s all about EDM. (We’ll be announcing the launch on our Facebook page, so stay tuned). Electronic Dance Music is the fastest growing genre of music in the industry and, though the number of artists in the space increases parallel to its popularity, the media hasn’t quite caught up. Because of this, discovering what’s going on in the EDM world is unnecessarily difficult. Enter Signalfy. We recently talked with Kara Dake, CEO and Co-Founder of Signalfy, about the new site and you can check that out below.

1. Tell us a little about Signalfy. 

K.D.: Signalfy is a one-stop social community for discovering and promoting electronic music events. We are developing Signalfy due to frustration with the inefficient and un-social process of finding EDM events & festivals. We recently launched in Portland and will be rolling out to Seattle, Vegas, SF and LA in the coming months! Look for our mobile app coming soon too. And here’s our awesome team

2. What kind of community is Signalfy looking to create?
K.D.: Signalfy is a space to discover and promote all electronic music event types & genres from small drum n bass club nights to large-scale multi-genre festivals. Our community is extremely passionate around their music, and we are building more tools which allow people to connect around the event experience. We recently launched our blog and will be posting artist interviews, festival reviews, and unique contests here. 
3. What are the benefits of posting your event on Signalfy?
K.D.: We are creating a user-generated platform where anyone – a DJ, promoter, venue or fan – can create a profile and upload an event.  Fans can follow promoter’s profiles and receive event updates based on who they follow in their trending event feed. We are aiming at achieving a SoundCloud-level user experience which makes it easy to target your events to the fans that would most like to know about them, based on DJ’s they follow on SoundCloud, which genres they are in to, and what cities they are in or travel to. Right now there are major promotional challenges in the current platforms – Facebook and other sites like Resident Advisor don’t offer the social elements this tech-driven EDM community needs.
4. Why are excited to be working with FanFueled?

K.D.: FanFueled is smart social marketing. We currently work with a number of brand partners, sponsors and festivals, and FF allows us to leverage our current partnerships and explore new ones in one cohesive platform. We’re able to test and identify what our social media fans would like to be a part of and want to win, as well as view which social media channels they’re most engaged on. The FanFueled team has been super easy to work with and we’re really excited to see where this goes!
5. What exciting developments do you have on the horizon?
K.D.: We’re really excited to launch our new Festivals category. If you don’t see your festival on Signalfy yet, go ahead and add. We love meeting other electronic music + tech fanatics. Here’s where we’ll be this Summer, stop by and say hi!
